Keyon Malik Maynor Obituary, Washington, D.C. Death: MPD Investigating Fatal Shooting on 5th Street NW

According to MPD, officers with the Third District responded at approximately 2:14 p.m. on Wednesday, July 29, 2026, to the 1300 block of 5th Street NW following reports of a shooting. When officers arrived, they found two adult men suffering from apparent gunshot wounds.
DC Fire and EMS personnel provided emergency medical care before transporting both victims to a local hospital. Despite lifesaving efforts, Keyon Malik Maynor, of Northwest Washington, succumbed to his injuries. The second victim survived the shooting and was reported to have sustained non-life-threatening injuries.
