Amber Simmons Death: In Loving Memory of Amber Simmons Passed Away Unexpectedly Family and Friends Mourn

Family, friends, classmates, and the wider community are mourning the heartbreaking loss of Amber Ann Simmons, whose life was tragically cut short following an accident on July 27, 2026. Born on September 7, 2009, Amber was a cherished daughter, granddaughter, partner, and friend whose warmth, compassion, and radiant smile left a lasting impression on everyone fortunate enough to know her.

Amber is lovingly remembered by her parents, Todd and Julie Simmons, the Schlappi family, her grandparents Sandy Simmons, Paul and Judy Jackson, Steve and Debbie Stair, and Tammy Bush, her special Aunt Shelby, along with many aunts, uncles, cousins, extended family members, and countless close friends who now grieve her tremendous loss.

One of the most meaningful parts of Amber’s life was her relationship with Ethan Schlappi. What began as an elementary school crush blossomed into a deep and loving relationship that lasted for three years. Together they shared a love for attending derbies and caring for their ducks, chickens, and beloved cat, Buck, while building countless cherished memories. Ethan tragically passed away just two days before Amber, a heartbreaking loss that has deeply affected both families.

Amber possessed a deep appreciation for animals and the outdoors, a passion that began while spending time alongside her grandfather Paul. She also shared many special interests with the people she loved most. She learned to cook alongside her mother and dreamed of attending culinary school, while her mechanical abilities made her a dependable helper for her father on countless projects. With her grandmother Judy, she developed a love for musicals, traveling, reading, exploring bookstores, and creating thoughtful handmade gifts for family and friends.

Her faith also became an important part of her life as she embraced her relationship with her Savior and continued discovering what her beliefs meant to her personally. Those closest to Amber remember her as someone whose kindness, generosity, and genuine concern for others reflected the values she held dear.

Even in death, Amber’s compassion continued to change lives. Shortly after receiving her driver’s license, she chose to register as an organ donor. Following a moving Honor Walk at the hospital, Amber’s final act of generosity gave others the gift of life, leaving behind a remarkable legacy of selflessness and hope.

A celebration of Amber’s life was held on Saturday, August 1, 2026, at the Simmons family home in Sunfield, Michigan, where loved ones gathered to share photographs, memories, and stories honoring the beautiful young woman she was.

In keeping with Amber’s passion for helping others, memorial contributions may be made to the Be Nice Foundation, an organization dedicated to promoting mental health awareness, reducing stigma, encouraging inclusion, and supporting anti-bullying efforts—causes that were especially close to her heart.

Although Amber’s life ended far too soon, the love she shared, the kindness she showed, and the countless lives she touched will never be forgotten. Her legacy lives on through the memories of those who loved her, the lives she saved through organ donation, and the compassion she demonstrated every day. She will be deeply missed, forever remembered, and lovingly honored by all who had the privilege of knowing her.
