Caleb Raymond Butler will be remembered for his outgoing personality, kind heart, and willingness to help anyone who needed him. For his family and friends in Cumberland, Rhode Island, his passing marks the heartbreaking loss of a young man whose presence brought warmth and companionship to those around him.
Caleb, 26, of Cumberland, passed away on Saturday, August 1, 2026, at Landmark Medical Center in Woonsocket. Born in Providence, he was the beloved son of Craig and Idalina (Lazaro) Butler and had been a lifelong resident of Cumberland.
For the past six months, Caleb had worked for a local fence company. Before that, he was employed by CPS Technologies in Norton. Outside of work, he found happiness in the outdoors. Fishing, swimming, hiking, and playing golf were among the activities he enjoyed.
Those closest to Caleb will remember him as someone who cared deeply for others. His family described him as kind-hearted and as the type of person who would do anything for anyone. That generosity, along with the memories he created with loved ones, will remain an important part of his legacy.
Caleb is survived by his parents, his daughter, Penelope Butler, and his brother, Joshua Butler of Cumberland, along with numerous aunts, uncles, cousins, and close friends. He was preceded in death by his grandparents.
A Life Celebration was scheduled at J. J. Duffy Funeral Home in Cumberland, with visitation on August 6 and continuing August 7, followed by a prayer service and burial at Arnolds Mills Cemetery.
Caleb’s life may have been brief, but the love he shared and the memories he created will endure in the hearts of those who knew him.
