The family of Melissa Mondragon Casias is demanding answers and continuing to call for justice following the release of new findings regarding the circumstances of her death.
According to the latest findings from the Office of the Medical Investigator (OMI), Melissa died from a gunshot wound to the head. However, because her remains were in an advanced state of decomposition when they were discovered, investigators were unable to conclusively determine the circumstances surrounding the shooting, including whether the wound was self-inflicted.
