Dr. Ted H. Jefferson Obituary Paducah KY Death: Mayfield Orthopedic Surgeon Dies at 59
A life dedicated to healing others, supporting family, and serving his community is being remembered as loved ones mourn the passing of Dr. Ted H. Jefferson of Mayfield, Kentucky. Dr. Jefferson died on Friday, August 7, 2026, at his residence at the age of 59.
Born on January 25, 1967, Dr. Jefferson built a respected career as a self-employed orthopedic surgeon. Throughout his professional life, he was committed to the field of orthopedic medicine and was a member of the American Academy of Orthopaedic Surgeons (AAOS) and the American Osteopathic Academy of Orthopedics (AOAO).
Beyond his medical career, Dr. Jefferson was also a member of Three Rivers Martial Arts Academy, reflecting his interests and dedication outside of his work.
He is survived by his wife, Lisa Wieder Jefferson; his parents, William and Nancy Howard Jefferson of Ocean City, New Jersey; four sons, Adam Jefferson of Chicago, Ryan (Allyson) Jefferson of Paducah, Evan Jefferson of Mayfield, and Liam Jefferson of Cincinnati; his brother Matt (Meredith) Jefferson; sister-in-law Kelly Jefferson; four grandchildren, Parker, Kohen, Rylie, and Phoenixx; along with four nephews and one niece.
Dr. Jefferson was preceded in death by his brother, Daniel Jefferson.
A memorial service will be held at 7:00 p.m. Tuesday, August 11, 2026, at Byrn Funeral Home in Mayfield, Kentucky, with visitation from 4:30 p.m. to 7:00 p.m. Rev. Chad Lamb will officiate.
As family, friends and colleagues remember Dr. Jefferson, they honor a physician, husband, father and grandfather whose life was marked by dedication, compassion and meaningful connections. His legacy will continue through the people he cared for and the family he cherished.
