Kristina “Krissy” D. Mucci, Death, Conneaut, Ohio Obituary: Beloved Educator Passed Away Unexpectedly
The community of Conneaut, Ohio, is mourning the death of Kristina “Krissy” D. Mucci, who passed away peacefully on August 8, 2026, at Reserve Care Hospice House in Cleveland. She was 57. Born in Conneaut on July 8, 1969, Krissy built a life centered on education, family, service, and an extraordinary commitment to children.
A graduate of Conneaut High School in 1987, Krissy became a first-generation college graduate, earning a Bachelor of Science in Education from Kent State University and a master’s degree in education from Lake Erie College. Her distinguished career included roles as a teacher, curriculum director, principal, literacy coach, and adjunct professor. She worked with several educational institutions, including Ashtabula Area City Schools, Conneaut Area City Schools, Pymatuning Area School System, and East Central Ohio Educational Service Center. She also helped coach swimming, track, and soccer.
Those who knew Krissy remembered her for her warmth, generosity, and ability to make everyone feel welcome. Her greatest passion was helping children, often going beyond her professional responsibilities to personally ensure that students had what they needed. Outside of education, she enjoyed hiking, kayaking, cycling, swimming, triathlons, Lake Erie, and walks with her beloved dogs, Nala and Tucker. Above all, she treasured family, especially the Sunday dinners that brought everyone together.
Krissy is survived by her husband, Brian, whom she married in 1994; daughter Kira and son-in-law Donte’ Jackson; son Logan and daughter-in-law Sarah; her parents, siblings, extended family and many nieces and nephews. She was also eagerly awaiting the September birth of her first grandchild, Remi Kristina Marie Mucci. A Celebration of Life will be held Sunday, August 16, from 2 to 5 p.m. at Corpus Christi Parish Center, Cabrini Hall, in Conneaut. In keeping with Krissy’s wishes, loved ones are encouraged to celebrate her life by continuing to make a difference in the lives of others.
