With profound sadness, the Waples Memorial United Methodist Church family and the wider Denison community mourn the passing of Rhett Richards, a beloved son, brother, friend, and cherished member of the church community.
Rhett will be remembered for his beautiful smile, joyful spirit, kindness, and the warmth he brought into the lives of those around him. Through his presence, service, and involvement in the church, he touched many lives and became a treasured part of the community. The memories he created will continue to live in the hearts of those who knew and loved him.
At this difficult time, our deepest condolences go to Rhett’s parents, Kyle and Whitney, his brother, Miles, and their entire family. The loss of a beloved child and family member brings unimaginable sorrow, and there are often no words sufficient to express the depth of such grief. May the Richards family find strength through their faith, the love of family and friends, and the support of their church community.

Visitation will be held Friday, August 14, from 5:00 to 7:00 p.m. at Waples Memorial United Methodist Church. A service celebrating Rhett’s life will take place Saturday, August 15, 2026, at 10:00 a.m. at Waples Memorial UMC, 830 W. Main St., Denison, Texas.
As the community gathers to remember Rhett, the words of Scripture offer comfort: “Come to me, all of you who are weary and carry heavy burdens, and I will give you rest.” May this message provide peace to those carrying the weight of grief.
