Eric Battaglia Burlington, NJ Death-Burlington, NJ Community Mourns Beloved 41-Year-Old Who Passed Away Unexpectedly
BURLINGTON, N.J. — Family, friends, and the Burlington community are mourning the sudden passing of Eric D. “Irv” Battaglia, who died on August 16, 2026, at the age of 41. His unexpected death has left a profound void among the many people who knew and loved him.
Eric was the beloved son of Leon and Cindi (née Lukens) Battaglia and a cherished brother to Ed, Leon, and Bryan. He was also a devoted uncle to Jack E., Kace R., Kaylee, and Brooke. His longtime significant other, Lindsey Lovenduski, was by his side for 11 years, sharing a relationship filled with love, companionship, and countless memories.
Irv was a proud graduate of Holy Cross High School, Class of 2003. During his high school years, he was a member of the school’s 2001 State Championship football team, an achievement that remained a source of tremendous pride. He never missed an opportunity to remind his brothers that he was the only state champion in the family, doing so with the humor and personality that those closest to him knew so well.
Following high school, Irv built a career as a union ironworker with Local 68. He took great pride in his profession and in the brotherhood he found through his work. He was known as a hardworking, loyal person who valued the friendships he formed throughout his career.
For Irv, some of life’s most meaningful moments were found in time spent with family. Sunday gravy at his parents’ home was especially important to him, providing an opportunity to be surrounded by the people he loved most.
He treasured his role as “Uncle Eric,” and his nieces and nephews held a particularly special place in his heart. Among their favorite memories were rides in his Jeep with the doors off, turning an ordinary trip into an adventure they would never forget.
Irv will be remembered for his sense of humor, loyalty, generosity, and unmistakable personality. He leaves behind parents, siblings, a longtime partner, nieces, nephews, extended family, and countless friends who will carry his memory forward.
Relatives and friends are invited to attend Irv’s funeral mass on Monday, August 24, 2026, at 10:30 a.m. at St. Paul’s Church, 223 E. Union Street, Burlington, NJ 08016. Guests are asked to arrive by 10:00 a.m.
Interment will be private.
In lieu of flowers, donations may be made in Irv’s memory to the St. Paul’s Church General Fund at 223 E. Union Street, Burlington, NJ 08016.
