Trey Shawn Cowman Wilkes-Barre, PA Death- Wilkes-Barre Mourns a Beloved Son, Brother and Friend

The Wilkes-Barre community is mourning the heartbreaking loss of Trey Shawn Cowman, who passed away on Sunday, August 16, 2026, at the age of 30. Known for his infectious smile, quick wit, generous spirit, and ability to make everyone around him feel welcome, Trey leaves behind a lasting legacy of love, laughter, friendship, and cherished memories.

Born in Kingston on September 27, 1995, Trey was the beloved son of Diane Duesler Cowman and the late Shawn Cowman. He was a proud member of the Cowman family and grew into a young man whose warmth and personality touched countless lives.

Trey graduated from Wyoming Valley West High School in 2012, where he excelled academically in business and enjoyed a successful football career. He took particular pride in being part of the first Spartan football team to win the Eastern Conference Championship during his senior year. His passion for learning continued at Shippensburg University, where he earned a Bachelor of Business Administration, followed by a Master of Business Administration in Business Analytics from the University of Scranton.

Professionally, Trey worked as a data analyst, most recently with Golden Hippo in Los Angeles, California. Yet his career was only one part of a life filled with many passions.

Trey had an extraordinary sense of humor and dreamed of pursuing stand-up comedy. He could turn difficult experiences into laughter and was often the entertainer at family gatherings and social occasions. His vibrant personality made people feel comfortable, valued, and included—even those he had only just met.

Sports and music were also central to Trey’s life. He loved discussing statistics and team performances and remained a devoted fan of the San Francisco 49ers and Michigan Wolverines. One especially treasured memory was traveling with his father to Indianapolis in 2023 to watch Michigan win the Big Ten Football Championship.

Trey’s love for music took him to festivals and concerts with family and friends, creating memories that will remain precious to those who shared those experiences with him.

Trey had already endured the devastating losses of his father, Shawn Cowman, and his brother, Tyler Cowman, whom he considered among his closest companions. He is survived by his brother Trevin Cowman, Trevin’s wife Brittany, his mother Diane, his beloved Fluffy, extended family, and countless friends who will forever remember him as “Trey Trey.”

As loved ones gather to celebrate his life, heartfelt condolences go to everyone grieving this tremendous loss. May the memories of Trey’s laughter, kindness, humor, and unconditional ability to make others feel special bring comfort in the difficult days ahead.

May Trey Shawn Cowman rest peacefully, forever remembered and deeply loved.
