Kerry Stratton Obituary– Poplar Bluff, MO Death: Poplar Bluff Woman Dies at 52 After ALS Battle
Kerry Ann Stratton lived with a generosity of spirit that remained unmistakable even through the hardest years of her life. She was a devoted mother, grandmother, daughter, sister, and friend whose warmth continued to shine despite the devastating challenges she faced.
Kerry was born January 23, 1974, and died on August 22, 2026, at age 52, after a courageous battle with ALS. According to her family’s tribute, the disease took much from her physically, but it never took away her spirit, compassion, or trademark smile.
Family was at the center of Kerry’s life. She was especially proud of being a mother to her son, Wyatt Wilkerson, and a grandmother to Isla and Stone. Her granddaughter held a particularly special place in her heart, bringing her tremendous happiness.
Kerry also shared a close bond with her father, Kenny Stratton, who remained one of her greatest supporters. She treasured her family and was known for consistently putting the needs of others before her own.
For 13 years, Kerry worked at Fellowship General Baptist Church, where she developed friendships and relationships that became like an extended family. Leaving the work she loved because of ALS was deeply difficult for her, while the prayers and support of her church community meant greatly to Kerry and her family.
Those who knew Kerry remembered her as kind, unselfish and generous. Even after ALS took her voice, she continued communicating through her smile and a reassuring thumbs-up.
Kerry is survived by her son, parents, siblings, grandchildren, nephews, step-grandfather and special friend, Chad Montague.
A memorial visitation will be held August 26 from noon to 1 p.m. at Fellowship General Baptist Church in Poplar Bluff, Missouri, followed by a memorial service and burial at City Cemetery.
Kerry’s life leaves behind more than grief. It leaves an example of courage, humility and unconditional love—a legacy carried forward by everyone who knew her.
