Brock Roark and Laikyn Stephens Have Passed Away After Tragic Alabama ATV Crash
CLAY COUNTY, Alabama — Family, friends, and loved ones in Alabama and Georgia are mourning the tragic deaths of Brock J. Roark, 34, of Delta, Alabama, and Laikyn Stephens, 13, of Villa Rica, Georgia, following a devastating ATV crash in Clay County.
The fatal accident happened at approximately 5:30 p.m. on Sunday, August 30, 2026, on Good Hope Delta Road near Crutchfield Drive, about seven miles southwest of Delta, according to information released by the Alabama Law Enforcement Agency (ALEA) Highway Patrol Division.
Authorities said Roark was operating a 2025 Can-Am Outlander 850 ATV when the vehicle left the roadway. The circumstances that caused the ATV to leave the road remain under investigation.
The ATV subsequently struck a tree and overturned, ejecting both Roark and Stephens.
Roark suffered fatal injuries in the crash and was pronounced dead at the scene. Stephens, who was riding as a passenger, sustained critical injuries and was transported to a nearby hospital for medical treatment. Despite efforts to save her, the 13-year-old later died from injuries sustained in the collision.
