Plymouth Stabbing Update: Man in His 20s Arrested After Serious North Hill Attack
A man in his 20s has been arrested following a serious stabbing incident on North Hill in Plymouth, Devon, on Tuesday evening, September 15, 2026. Devon and Cornwall Police said officers were called at around 7:20 p.m. after reports of a serious assault, with one man suffering what police described as “life-changing injuries.” He was taken to hospital for treatment.
The suspect was arrested on suspicion of attempted murder, assault occasioning grievous bodily harm, and possession of a bladed article in a public place. Police said he remained in custody as enquiries continued. Witnesses reported seeing a fight involving several people in the road, while a man allegedly carrying a bladed weapon was seen wearing a light-brown camouflage jacket and green beret.
North Hill was subsequently closed, with several connecting roads also cordoned off while emergency services and investigators worked at the scene. Police were seen alongside an ambulance and several patrol vehicles, while CCTV footage from a City Bus caught within the cordon was downloaded as part of the investigation. The bus itself was understood to be unrelated to the incident.
The investigation remains ongoing, and police have not publicly released the victim’s identity or provided further details about the circumstances surrounding the alleged stabbing. The arrest is an allegation only, and the suspect has not been convicted of any offence.
