Family, friends, members of the community, and the wider drum community are mourning the tragic passing of Ajani Leona Everhart, a 21-year-old Sacramento woman who was killed in a two-vehicle crash near Rio Vista, California, on September 27, 2026.
According to information attributed to the California Highway Patrol, the collision occurred at approximately 5:30 a.m. on Highway 160 near Sherman Island Cross Road. Everhart was reportedly driving a black Kia Forte northbound when the vehicle crossed into the southbound lanes and collided with an oncoming white Ford F-250 pickup truck. She was the sole occupant of the Kia and died in the crash. Two people traveling in the Ford were transported to a hospital with unspecified injuries. The circumstances surrounding the collision remain under investigation, and it has not been established whether impairment played any role.
