Olivia Johnson, a talented educator, community volunteer and creative entrepreneur, has died at the age of 24, leaving Arkansas Tech University, the Atkins community, family, friends and colleagues mourning a heartbreaking loss. She passed away Sunday, Oct. 4.
Arkansas Tech University confirmed that students, faculty, staff, alumni and friends are grieving Olivia’s passing. At the time of her death, she was serving as coordinator of student success and instructor of business administration in the ATU College of Business and Economic Development.
A two-time Arkansas Tech graduate, Olivia was a 2020 graduate of Pottsville High School. She earned a Bachelor of Science in Business Administration in digital marketing in 2024 and a Master of Business Administration in 2025.
Her dedication to leadership and student involvement was recognized throughout her time at ATU. In 2023, she was named ATU Student Organization President of the Year for her leadership of the university’s FBLA Collegiate chapter. She was also named the 2023 Arkansas FBLA Collegiate Member of the Year. Her accomplishments continued with selection to Who’s Who at Arkansas Tech in 2024, the LeMoyne Smith School of Business Leadership Award and the 2025 Tradition Keepers.
Olivia also made a meaningful impact beyond the university. People for a Better Atkins remembered her as a valued friend and committee member. She first joined Picklefest as a vendor through her business, Singulivity, sharing her creativity and passion for crafting. In 2025, she joined the organization’s committee, helping coordinate Picklefest activities, manage social media and design the Atkins 150th Celebration Coin.
Her passing has left a profound void among those who knew her. Heartfelt condolences go to Olivia’s family, friends, students, colleagues and everyone who loved her. Her creativity, leadership, generosity and commitment to her community will remain part of the legacy she leaves behind.
