M5 Accident Today: Serious Crash Near Exeter Causes Emergency Response

M5 Accident Today: A serious accident on the M5 near Exeter has prompted an emergency services response, with police confirming that a driver suffered serious injuries following a collision.

The crash happened on the M5 southbound between Junction 28 and Junction 29 near Exeter. According to Devon & Cornwall Police, the collision involved a blue BMW 320 and a grey Skoda Karoq. The BMW overturned during the incident and came to rest on its roof.

The driver of the BMW was taken to hospital with a serious injury. One passenger was also taken to the hospital for checks after suffering minor injuries. Paramedics assessed occupants of both vehicles at the scene.

Police were called at around 9:40am on Sunday, August 10, and inquiries into the circumstances of the collision are continuing.

Motorists travelling through the Exeter section of the M5 are advised to allow additional time and check the latest traffic information before starting their journey.
