Zachary G. McCormick Obituary, ABBEVILLE COUNTY, S.C. — Zachary G. McCormick, 32, of Gray Court, South Carolina, has lost her life following a fatal motorcycle crash in Abbeville County Saturday night, according to the Abbeville County Coroner’s Office.
The crash happened at approximately 10:10 p.m. on Highway 178 near Rock Springs School Road, according to the South Carolina Highway Patrol. McCormick was operating a 2007 Yamaha sport motorcycle and was traveling westbound on the highway when the motorcycle left the left side of the roadway.
According to spokespeople, the motorcycle subsequently struck a utility pole and a fence. The circumstances that caused the motorcycle to leave the roadway remain under investigation, and officials have not indicated whether simpairment,irment or another factor contributed to the crash.
The Abbeville County Coroner’s Office was called to the scene at approximately 10:27 p.m. McCormick suffered fatal injuries in the collision and was pronounced dead at the scene, authorities noted.
Multiple emergency agencies responded to the crash, including Abbeville County EMS, the Abbeville County Fire Department, the Abbeville County Sheriff’s Office and the South Carolina Highway Patrol. Their response followed the report of the serious motorcycle collision along Highway 178.
