The community of Los Angeles and fans of Nickelodeon’s All That are mourning the death of Christy Knowings, who passed away at age 46 following a serious medical emergency. According to reports, Knowings suffered an asthma attack on Friday, August 7, 2026, which resulted in brain damage. She was hospitalized at a Los Angeles-area hospital and placed on life support before her family made the difficult decision to withdraw treatment. She died on Tuesday, August 11.
Knowings became widely known for her work on All That, where she was a regular cast member from 1997 to 2000, appearing in more than 30 episodes alongside performers including Amanda Bynes, Nick Cannon, and Kenan Thompson. Her memorable characters included Jessica, known for the catchphrase “Whateverrr!” and Penny Lane. She previously identified Gloria Bankhead as one of her favorite roles.
In a 2019 interview, Knowings described Gloria Bankhead as an “over-the-top Martha Stewart” and recalled enjoying the character so much that she remained in character even when cameras were not rolling. Her comedic talent and distinctive performances helped make her a memorable part of the show’s history.
